Family Partnership Advocate (FPA)

What does the "FPA" do?

The "FPA" helps bridge the current needs of the local school community to support partnerships between school and home. The FPA will help determine the needs and gaps of services of the underserved and underrepresented families in the school to develop a more culturally responsive approach to family engagement and student achievement.

Meet Liz Marino, our FPA

Liz Marino

I assist our community by recognizing and identifying each family’s needs. Promoting their wellbeing, and protecting their best interests. I connect our families to resources and programs they may need, developing good communication and relationship between them and our school in a way that is culturally responsive and supportive, while working in partnership with both parents and school staff. As Durham's FPA, it is my privilege and my hope to foster relationships with all of our families regardless of cultural or ethnic backgrounds.
